What to Expect in Counseling with your Teen:

As life challenges are unique and complex, counseling tends to look different from person to person and there is not a "one size fits all" approach to treatment. However, research has proven that using Cognitive-behavioral and experiential strategies effectively assists teens with identifying life struggles and developing skills to reduce their symptoms. It is also often very important to involve parents/caregivers in treatment to address communication barriers and family stressors that involve your child. There may be some sessions that you are required to be present while others may involve your teen working independently on issues presented.
